Semi-active hearing protectors are special earplugs that transmit sound to the ear and are equipped with easy-to-use closures on the outside. Once the earplugs are in the ear, the user can close or open the canal. They also contain a filter that attenuates noise.
Open mode allows you to hear surrounding sounds (including instructions and commands) and allows you to speak. In the case of impulse noise, the built-in acoustic filter partially attenuates the flowing sound wave and reduces the intensity of the noise. Open mode should be used when there is impulse noise (such as shots at an open shooting range, training ground or battlefield) and communication with other people is necessary.
Closed mode offers a higher level of hearing protection and is intended for use with impulse noise when we do not need to hear the surroundings and with continuous noise (e.g. in a helicopter, fighter jet, etc.).
The earplugs do not require a power source – the acoustic filter works on a mechanical principle.
Noise reduction level: - in closed mode SNR = 28 dB, - in open mode SNR = 16 dB.
Main features of earplugs: - reusable, - soft stabilizer that holds the earplug securely in the ear canal, - open/close mode switch, easy to use with gloves, - patented triple flange design, - patented mechanical filter for protection against impulse noise, - two cables included: black and light yellow, - They don't need batteries to work, - The set includes a plastic container for storing fuses.
M-sized headphones, which the manufacturer describes as One size fits many, meaning that it is a universal size product that fits most ears.
